About

Boston University is working with several South Florida institutions and the National Park Service to provide science and communications support to the staff of the Biscayne National Park. Our work is being sponsored by the Herbert W. Hoover Foundation and the Pew Marine Fellows Program.
As part of BU’s contribution, we have created and are building a public access data portal. This can be viewed below. In addition we have begun to study Biscayne National Park and its host ecosystem using integrated remote sensing and spatial analysis, a computational model for ecosystem service flows and tradeoffs, and a decision tool drawing from both. These tools are meant to facilitate research, public outreach, and stewardship of the BNP.
